South Australian Beach Volleyball star Bo Soderberg has won his fifth SA Open today at Glenelg.
Soderberg partnered with Malachi Murch and together proved to be the dominant Men's pair throughout the competition.
Runners up Zachary Schubert and Hamish Moore proved tough opposition in the final, which created a fantastic spectacle on a perfect weather day.
After a slow start, Soderberg was excited to receive the trophy for the fifth time in the longest running Australian Breach Volleyball tournament.
"The game started a bit slow from our point of view," Soderberg said.
"We struggled a bit with our attack and our opponents played some good defence.
"We got going in the end of both set and was not really pushed in either set.
As for Soderberg's partner Malachi Murch, he believes they work well together.
"Malachi and I have a good mentality and both work hard," Soderberg explains.
"I have coached him a bit in Europe at the junior world championships and we train against each other lots, so we know each other really well. He is very easy to play with.
Soderberg has created history by winning the SA Open five times.
"It's fun to be the most winning player at the SA Open and now I got two in a row which is fun," Soderberg says.
"I really enjoy every victory, because I don't have another 5 wins in me anymore.
"Planning to retire in a few years, so love the last bit of success in a sport I've been doing for 20 years now.
The South Australian star will now travel to Queensland for his next event.
"I play QLD open next weekend and then national Tour in Surfers Paradise the weekend after," he said.
