Second Shots the Key

World Number 12 Brooke Henderson believes the Grange course is tricky and the key to success will be her second shots.

The 18 year old Canadian is throwing her support around the local course' groundskeeper's admitting the course is top shape.

"It (The Course) is in amazing condition and they've really done a great job with it," Henderson explained.

"It's a little bit tricky, second shots are really key here and just being able to play smart around the course and really knowing where to hit the ball is going to be really important."

Henderson is confident of playing well but knows any player on their day is able to win despite the World Rankings.

"World Ranking doesn't mean a whole lot," she continued.

"I mean week to week every player out here can win, so you just have to use it as confidence but really just focus on your own game and playing the course as best you can."

One person standing in the way of everyone will be World Number One and in form Lydia Ko fresh from the NZ Open victory last week.

"She (Lydia Ko) is always going to be at the top unless you're willing to go under par," she said.

"I mean she is always going to be there."

But Henderson still believes she can take the ultimate number one position if she is willing to continue to work hard.

"Absolutely (She can become Number One), I mean its going to take hard work and its a long climb from 12th (rank) right now," she says.

"But, I mean Lydia Ko is extremely consistent and an extremely talented player and I think to move her out of the spot or to get close to her is going to require a lot of hard work that I'm willing to put in."

Henderson grew up idolising her older sister Brittany and now she will have her looking over her shoulder for her own support as her caddy.

"It's awesome (to have sister brittany on her bag as caddy) I love having her to travel with and see the world and experience all these things with her," Henderson said.

"To have her on my bag everyday is really cool.

"You know when I was a little girl I grew up watching her and wanting to be like her and and now have her support me really means a lot."
