Thriller at The Bay

In an eight-inning nail-biter mid-week, Glenelg kept in touch with top spot of the division one baseball table with a 1-0 victory over Adelaide. The game was 0-0 through the regulation seven innings of Wednesday's game, when Max Brown scored on Beau Bishop's sacrifice fly to give the Tigers the only run of the game. Greg Mosel, Connor Hill and Tim Day all threw 2.2 innings of shut-out ball to lead Glenelg, while Jared Messer pitched the complete eight frames for the Angels, surrendering just three hits for eight K2s. Woodville also kept ahead of the pack with a come-from-behind 8-3 victory over Henley & Grange. Trailing 2-3 after four innings, the Senators scored four big runs in the fifth dig on two-run hits to Liam Huppatz and Troy Nicholson. Austin Gallagher was the star with the bat in Kensington's 4-0 win over Golden Grove Central Districts, with two home runs and three RBIs. With the ball, Nick Talbot went the distance, surrendering just three safe hits to claim the win. Although close, West Torrens did enough to beat Northern Districts 3-0 to remain a game clear at the top of the table. The Eagles scored single runs in each of the first three frames, Nathan Vanderlinden picking a walk and scoring on an error, Jared Kempf belting an RBI double and Josef Vojak coming home on Terry Williams' infield hit. A three-run first inning, highlighted by consecutive RBI hits to Luke Rackebrandt, Patrick Inglis and Dylan Brammer, set up Port Adelaide's 8-3 victory over East Torrens, while Goodwood beat Southern Districts 10-0.
