Our Sporting Life SA's Andrew Frackowski understands that the world's greatest netballer Maria Folau (nee Tutaia) will play for the Adelaide Thunderbirds in the 2019 Suncorp Super Netball season.
However there has yet to be any announcement or confirmation at this stage.
In what would be the most significant signing in the club's history, the most prolific long-range shooter could allegedly be announced a Thunderbird as early as this week.
Since marrying Australian Wallabies Rugby star Israel Folau , Maria has lived in Sydney since November and had been traveling home to play in the New Zealand League.
After news broke last month that Folau was available to play in the Suncorp Super Netball in 2019, clubs have been in a race to secure the 31 year old.
Folau (nee Tutaia) is currently representing New Zealand Silver Ferns in the International Quad Series.
The Adelaide Thunderbirds have recently announced International recruits Beth Cobden from England along with Jamaican defender Shamera Sterling in what is already shaping as a formidible line up under the astute guidance of new coach Tania Obst.
